Bill Belichick is a Taylor Swift fan after she played in the rain: ‘It’s hard’

Bill Belichick is a Swiftie. I bet you don’t see that coming.

The New England Patriots coach has a fun side off the football field, not that he’s revealed much about it. His friendship with Jon Bon Jovi is mentioned every time someone does a story portraying Belichick as something more than a bad guy that everyone sees at his press conferences.

Taylor Swift may not be sailing on Belichick’s “VII Rings” boat anytime soon, but the trainer said he’s a fan of the hot singer.

Like almost everyone else, Belichick saw Swift in concert this summer. He was touched.

Belichick said on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show” that he “saw a little bit of Taylor,” which made it look like he watched a movie of her as if she was a returning backup.

Belichick then gave what sounded more like a scouting report on Swift than a concert review, commenting on her playing in the rain at one of Foxborough’s shows at Gillette Stadium.

“That was impressive,” Belichick said on WEEI. via the team website. “She’s strong, man. She just stood there and played right.”

Based on this, Belichick may be willing to sign her to a two-year contract.

Now, there is some controversy. WEEI Belichick asked if he was an official Swiftie, to which the coach replied “Formal? I don’t know about that.” Don’t give up on the game plan, and so on.

But he did tell the radio hosts that he enjoyed “You Need to Calm Down,” one of Swift’s many, many hits.

“Look, I sure do,” Belichick said, muttering the title a bit, perhaps for effect. “You’ve got to calm down.” You have to calm down. There are a lot of times when that’s very appropriate.”

So there you have it. Belichick is a fan of Swift. Join the club, Bill.
