Wait, a flat TV antenna? Aren’t these supposed to have long metal rods interlaced (aka rabbit ears)? Nope, this new design (which you’ll see on countless other brands) works too, and it’s not meant to sit on top of your TV. Alternatively, you can mount it to a wall or window with the included adhesive pads, with the black or white side facing inward to better match your decor.

The aptly named Flatenna is really flat as a piece of paper. Simply attach one end of the 12-foot cord to the bottom and the other end to your TV’s coaxial input. (Yes, that means there’s an ugly wire running up your wall; consider a channel kit like this to help disguise it.)

The Channel Master promises a range of up to 35 miles, but of course this depends on a variety of factors. As noted above, optimal placement—as high as possible and unobstructed—makes all the difference.

The big news here is the price: At just $29, the Flatenna is affordable and a good place to start your antenna journey—assuming you’re okay with a black or white rectangle stuck to a wall or window.
